But unfortunately, this may not be good news. According to a German member of these forums, and in this post, it has been revealed that this new calculator may not be what it is expected to be.

So far, the new calculator is quite buggy, and the programming features have not been implemented yet. One of the beta testers actually hurt his hand while testing the project, because reportedly the handling is so bad. The battery life stands at 3-4 hours, now...

The entire report can be found here.

The tip-off post can be found here.

Wow, thanks for the tip, Gottvonallem.

Nice story, Pure.

From reading this, I'm assuming that this uses rechargeable batteries (like those of cellphones) and requires a recharger, which will hopefully be included.

Although this is not necessarily good news, I am happy that there is some news...

I believe that is what he meant in his post. His english isn't too good, so I am only assuming.

And lo and behold, the first member of TICALCS2 to reach 1000 posts, and it's the end of August...you did this in March at the old forums, Vladik...

Well technically, someone found it on another site and just provided a link for us... Anyway, it would be great if it came with rechargable batteries and a recharger. It would save people so much money.

Meh, it's fine. It's in english here. We linked to the original place.

Yeah, and rechargable batteries are becoming the norm among tech objects. That would be far more convenient than buying constant AAA's every few months.

have they said anything on the design of the calc. im hoping it will break form the classic style the 83 etc have. the v200 is decent looking, but it looks like it can get annoying. an almost palm pilot like calc with a otuch screen would be fantastic, yet highly unlikely. i doubt ti would spend that much investment into making a new calc.

A touch screen was assumed in the beta, but you're right, they scrapped that idea rather quickly.
