I own both a Ti-89 Titanium and a Ti-84 Plus SE. Whenever I divide numbers than have answers in decimal form, my 84 is much more exact. For example, whever I divide 55 by 25254554 my 84 gives my 2.177825037x10^(-6) but when I calculate the same number on my 89, it gives me just .000002. How do I change my 89 not round and just give me the exact number (scientific notation is fine)?

I REALLY need to use my 89 in class but I cant use it when it is rounding so much.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
here are the screen captures of the calculators

they may be of some use

Press MODE, go to Display Digits, and select Float.
Just one more question-
is there any way to use the "log" function on the 89 titanium without going into the catalog
I know on the 84's there is an actual log button but I cant seem to find a second a custom option on the 89-titanium

anyway... thanks bfr, float workd great!!!!!!
As far I know, you either have to go to the catalog, type it in by hand, or create a custom menu to appear instead of the default menu in the Home screen. This page explains how to make custom menus.
thanks
