does anyone know of a program for the pc that will allow me to make a ti92 matrix with text in it?
i need it to allow a matrix like
[1,2,text]
[1,3,text]
[3,2,text]
unfortunately the only matrix program i could find wont let me have text in the 2rd column
ive got a lot of matrix's to make and would much rather just convert the data from a pc to a matrix rather then type it all in manually

and if possible if i could copy/paste the datalist into the program and then convert to a matrix, itd even be more helpful. Big Grin

or i can use the ti92database program if there is a way to convert a data file to a matrix on the ti92
You're trying to make a matrix with text in it? Well, in the Data/Matrix editor on your calculator, I think you should be able to put in text, as long as you put quotation marks (") around the text. For example, in the Data/Matrix editor, if I wanted to make an element contain the text "text," I'd simply enter in literally: "text"
yeh i knew bout that, but is there a way i can generate the matrix on a pc, mostly because ive got a huge amount of data that needs to be in about 8+ different matrix's (many with 50+ different items)
so if there is a way i could take the list i already have on the pc and have it converted to a 92m file it'd make for faster updates on this program im working on =\

right now ive got a few of the matrixs entered in by hand, and it is taking forever Sad

(i got that spacing thing from earlier to work perfectly, i just need the matrix's to fully use it, and entering in hundreds of items into matrixs takes forever)

yeh im doing [1, 1, "text"]
sorry i forgot to add the quotes because I didnt have my calc nearby during the original post

i found this program that makes data files for the 92 but i havent found away to convert that to a matrix on the calculator, or simply a pc program that allows you to make a 92m (with text in it) =\
Sorry, I don't know of anything that let's you create matrices on the computer and then send them to TI-92 This website allows you to convert a few types of files, but not matrices...yet. Maybe you could try making a TI-BASIC program to simplify the task? I, and probably some other people here, could probably help you with it. (Although I'm going to Costa Rica tomorrow, and I'll be there for about a week).
